Das Inselcafé in Borkum

Cake was great, as was the cream. The coffee pot (unfortunately no crema) tasted not quite up to date, the atmosphere seemed somehow pale and soulless to me. Hence only three stars.

A very tasty cocoa that you can order here. The dishes are also very good. Both the pancake and the waffle were delicious. Unfortunately, the service was a bit inattentive and sometimes gave a bit sloppy answers. But all in all, definitely to be recommended.

It's always very tasty, especially the waffles. The service is great and the idea with the red slip of paper that the table still needs to be cleaned is great. Gladly again.

Unfriendly to the family and outrageous! My parents wanted to eat pancakes there with their 3 grandchildren. It was full and they were waiting outside for a table. But every time a table became vacant, someone was admitted further back. A guest even came from inside and said he was going to pay right away and a large table would be available soon ... But the waiter waved his hand and again let someone enter from further back. He waved very unfriendly in front of the faces of my disappointed children and parents and just shook his head. Children with grandparents undesirable !!!!!! An absolute absurdity and not worthy of a family-friendly holiday island like Borkum! Never again!!!

You couldn't pay by card, the waitress forgot something twice. The food is very tasty and worth a visit. Reservations recommended.

Nothing out of the ordinary, but good. The pancake with applesauce tasted good, but for a single, who satisfies the small hunger, 7.50 € is a really very proud price. The menu has solid offers, exotic or something that makes this café special cannot be found. The staff is friendly and competent, I found the implemented Corona hygiene measures particularly good. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned, but nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the toilets need renovation and cleaning. I will not come back because I can achieve this at home too.

There are pancakes in many different variations. There were six of us and everyone was thrilled. The portions are quite good and okay for the price. The staff was very nice and the boss likes to take the time to chat. Have reserved again for Saturday😉

My personal opinion is that it tastes just as good as in any other specialized pancake company. There was nothing I could see that was much better than anywhere else. Nevertheless, if you like to eat pancakes you are in good hands here. Waiting time is really long like many have already rated. The coffee is good too, but on average it is not better or worse than in a good coffee house. So you can only recommend it mega because it is the only pancake house on the island. But if you want to treat yourself to something good, you can stop here.

This was my absolute favorite cafe on Borkum! I’m a big pancake fan, and this place delivered fantastically. :) So many different toppings, and such delicious pancakes, I frequented this place nearly every day whilst on holiday there. Word of advice - get the ‘small’ pancake, it really is just the right amount, unless you’re really hungry, then go for the big one (and honestly, I can eat huge amounts of food, and it was a challenge!) Super lecker - a must visit!
